Litz is made of twisted single wires covered with enamel. Those could be with extra insulation of cotton, nylon or silk. 

Applications - chokes, transformers.

Litz are made of self-solding wires. That means their enamel could be removed during drowning in tin.

GR1- single layer of enamel

GR2- double layer of enamel
